The Carney government’s first batch of nation-building projects to be expedited for approval will be unveiled Thursday, and reports indicate a new oil export pipeline won’t be included.

However, the notion hasn’t ignited frustration inside the Alberta government or the Canadian oilpatch — at least, not yet.

It comes after three senior oil and gas executives sat down with the federal Liberal caucus in Edmonton on Tuesday.

A larger group of officials — mainly petroleum producers — also met with a trio of cabinet ministers the same day, including Finance Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne, Natural Resources Minister Tim Hodgson and Environment Minister Julie Dabrusin.
