A vigil honoring the life of Charlie Kirk is scheduled at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Woodland Park, according to a post on the Teller County Republicans' Facebook page.

Kirk, the CEO and co-founder of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA, was fatally shot Wednesday at an event in Orem, Utah, officials said.

President Donald Trump said Kirk was shot and killed as he was speaking at Utah Valley University.

Kirk was scheduled to speak Thursday on the first day of the three-day Truth & Liberty Conference at Charis Bible College in Woodland Park.

Wednesday night's vigil is planned at Memorial Park, 200 N. Park St.

Kirk had visited Charis Bible College in 2024 for "Freedom Night in America" to discuss the mobilizing of students on college campuses, according to his show's websit
