BURNT HILLS — In a meeting of 2024 field hockey sectional champions, it was the defending state champion that came out on top.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, which captured Section 2 Class B glory en route to a perfect 21-0 season and the Class B state title, topped Guilderland — last year’s Section 2 Class A winner — 4-1 Wednesday night at Centennial Field.
