An Orange County Sheriff's Office recruit was arrested Wednesday in Polk County.

“At the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, we are committed to ensuring that those who serve the community as deputies follow the laws they are responsible to uphold,” said Sheriff John Mina in a statement.

Lowe had been in the law enforcement academy since June, the sheriff's office said. He has since been terminated.
