METAIRIE, La. (Louisiana First) — If there’s a team in the NFL that has worse luck than the New Orleans Saints when it comes to injuries, it might be the San Francisco 49ers. Sunday’s game already looks vastly different from what it did entering the season.

The 49ers will be without star tight end George Kittle, who they placed on IR after he suffered a hamstring injury in Week 1. San Francisco has been 6-12 without him since 2019.

Also, quarterback Brock Purdy is a "longshot" to play, according to San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan, who’s dealing with a left shoulder and toe injury. That puts Mac Jones in line to start, the former Patriots starting quarterback, the Saints beat 34-0 back in 2023.
