PITTSBURGH (WTAJ) -- Pittsburgh placed a pair of Steelers, backup quarterback Skylar Thompson, and linebacker Malik Harrison on injured reserve Wednesday. By NFL rules, those two will miss, at minimum, four games.
Harrison injured his knee in the team's comeback win over the Jets on Sunday, while Thompson suffered a hamstring injury in practice last week. In response, Pittsburgh elevated James Pierre from the practice squad. He'll fill a much needed void in the secondary with injuries to DeShon Elliot and Joey Porter Jr. Pittsburgh also formally added safety Jabrill Peppers.
Pittsburgh also sign quarterback Logan Woodside to the practice squad. Woodside spent time in Latrobe with Pittsburgh following the injury to backup quarterback and rookie Will Howard.
