SANDY, Utah (ABC4 Sports) - Some 27 recent draft picks and free agents began rookie camp today for the Utah Mammoth at their brand new practice facility in Sandy. No less than six first round picks are here, so the competition is high.

"There are some impressive prospects there," said general manager Bill Armstrong. "It's not too often that you have that many first rounders actually going to a rookie camp."

Several of the players have been in camp before, and some even have some NHL experience. But they all have the goal of making the team.

"Like you said, a lot of a lot of really good players out here," said 2024 first round pick Tij Iginla. "I just I want to play my game and work as hard as I can, compete as hard as I can."
