OKLAHOMA CITY — Attorney General Gentner Drummond will issue guidance to law enforcement agencies on how to determine whether drag shows might be classified as illegal, he said Wednesday.

In a news release Wednesday, Drummond said “fact specific” factors would have to be considered to evaluate whether a performance is legal under a new state law prohibiting obscene public displays.

The attorney general’s “binding” opinion does not say drag shows are illegal; however, it says children are not the appropriate audience for such performances.
