UTAH - Confusion surrounded the search for a gunman in Utah as conflicting statements emerged from law enforcement agencies. FBI Director Kash Patel stated most recently that the gunman remains at large, contradicting earlier information.

During a press conference earlier this evening, the FBI Director tweeted that a person was in custody as the gunman. This was at odds with the information being shared live at the event.

Police on the ground explained that a person initially taken into custody was considered a suspect but later ruled out. This individual was instead booked on obstruction of justice charges.
