CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Ohio lawmakers from both sides of the aisle are calling for the end of politically motivated violence after the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk in Utah on Wednesday.
" Shocked, appalled, and um, political violence should have no place in our free democratic society," said Ohio State Senator Nickie Antonio of Lakewood.
In the last year, political violence has escalated with several high-profile incidents that included the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump, the killing of a Minnesota State representative, Melissa Hortman, and her husband, and the related shooting of state senator John Hoffman and his wife.
