The 2025 season marks the 20th anniversary of an iconic Penn State football season, and the athletic department is planning to celebrate accordingly this weekend.
Penn State will honor the 2005 team Saturday during the game against FCS foe Villanova. Details of the celebration were not provided. Other past teams have typically been honored with a halftime appearance on the field.
Penn State and Villanova kick off Saturday at 3:30 p.m. inside Beaver Stadium, with the game airing on FS1.

The 2005 Nittany Lions finished the season 11-1 and ranked as the No. 3 team in the country.
