DOWNTOWN — The marble halls of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York were buzzing on Monday, Aug. 19, as nearly 420 incoming Brooklyn Law School students arrived for convocation.
Held just a few blocks from campus, the annual ceremony has become a rite of passage and an attempt to show the students the weight of the profession they’re entering and the community they’re now a part of.

The new class, among the most diverse in the school’s history, includes international students from six countries, part-time students balancing full-time jobs, and professionals from fields as varied as pharmaceuticals, entertainment and public service.
