CINCINNATI —

Repeat offenders are now the top priority for the new partnership between Cincinnati Police and Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Gov. Mike DeWine laid out the specifics Tuesday here in Cincinnati.

"Every city in this state, every city in this country has a relatively small number of violent criminals who cause 80 to 90 percent of the violence," Governor Mike DeWine said. "These are the individuals that we are going after."

Last month, 20 shots were fired in Over the Rhine, killing mother Chrishonda Wynn, who was just walking home. No arrests have been made.

In Colerain Township in 2023, India Kinamore was shot and killed the day she was due to give birth. Of the three men charged in her death, one was already in prison for a different gun charge.
