An earthquake could be felt throughout western Kern County on Wednesday evening.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS) website , A 3.6 magnitude earthquake struck 12.4 miles northeast of Maricopa on Wednesday night.
It was reported at 8:53 p.m. Its depth was reported at 13.4 kilometers.
There were no immediate reports of any damage.
