MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Animal Control officers in Merced County are working to keep the public safe after receiving several videos of a pack of dogs attacking cats and at least one other dog.

Authorities captured 10 of the aggressive dogs in Winton on Wednesday afternoon. Two other dogs are still on the streets.

Merced County Animal Control officers say the animals are responsible for killing at least 20 cats.

But there's also concern, the dogs could move on to humans.

"If these dogs are starting with cats, they could go up to attacking kids and we're right across from a school, so apprehending these dogs means a lot," said Cheyenne Brown of the Merced County Sheriff's Department of Animal Control.

So far, there are no reports of attacks on humans.
