People congregate at Turning Point Headquarters in Phoenix after news that the founder, Charlie Kirk, was shot and killed at a rally in Utah on Sept. 10, 2025.

The killing of Turning Point USA cofounder Charlie Kirk, 31, showed again that political violence is very much still a problem in America.

The video. The public setting. The overall horror of watching such a young person be shot and killed before our eyes.

That this happened on the same day as another school shooting is honestly just very American. It's also scary and tragic and depressing. Why does this keep happening? What do I tell my son?

Immediately after the news of Kirk's death spread, we received submissions from readers who wanted to share their thoughts. So we decided to open our latest Forum to ask you.

This is your opportunity to share your thoughts with us at USA TODAY Opinion about Kirk's death and violence in America.
