FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Twenty-four years after September 11th, 2001, participants are set to gather at Razorback Stadium to remember those who lost their lives that fateful day.

In 2001, 343 firefighters and paramedics were among the 2,996 lives lost as the first responders sprang to action at the World Trade Center.

In 2025, firefighters are among local participants climbing 110 flights of stairs on the University of Arkansas campus, symbolizing the number of stairs at the twin towers.

Through the university's Air Force and Army ROTC, the group is hosting its 13th annual stair climb, which starts at 5 in the morning on the anniversary.
