A NSW farmer has shared closeup footage of one of two fierce tornadoes spotted ripping through paddocks in a path of destruction.
Neil Davis captured footage of a twister near Cowra in the state's Central West yesterday as it pulled trees from the ground and ripped roofs off 300-year-old sheds, launching them across the open fields.
"It just shredded trees like they were in a blender, just tore them to pieces ... It went straight over the top of the ute, ended up turning around, tearing trees apart," he said.
"Once the funnel formed, it just got bigger and angrier."
At the centre of the twister, winds reached speeds of 140km/h.
"There was bits of corrugated iron three kilometres away in the neighbour's place. A lot of energy there," Davis said.
