When I was young, I would see Pennsylvania State Police vehicles drive by my house, responding to emergencies. I always admired the state police as leaders in the community, and I knew at a young age that I wanted to be a state trooper.
In 1992 my dream became reality, and I was sworn in as a trooper to serve and protect the very same community I grew up in and loved. Throughout my nearly 34 years with the department, training was always required. Although I have attended well over 100 training sessions during my career, there was one that forever imprinted on my mind and heart.
