Brandon McManus sexual assault allegations, explained: Why Commanders cut kicker before playing single game

In March 2024, kicker Brandon McManus signed a deal with the Washington Commanders in free agency; by that point, he already had a decade of experience in the NFL. He was set to become Washington's starting kicker.

However, just a few months later, the Commanders released McManus in the aftermath of sexual assault allegations that stemmed from the kicker's time with the Jacksonville Jaguars . Later on, an NFL investigation concluded that there was not enough evidence that McManus violated the league's personal conduct policy.

That led to McManus signing a deal with the Green Bay Packers , where he later agreed to a three-year extension.
