The San Francisco 49ers thought Jake Moody was the most talented kicker coming out of college. That’s the reason the team used their third-round pick on him in 2023—the highest-drafted kicker since Aguayo in 2016. They were initially rewarded. During his rookie season, Moody made 21 of 25 field goals, but that number dropped to 24 out of 34 in 2024. The decline continued in Week 1 against Seattle .
