Doubtful a remake of the 1989 movie “The War of the Roses” is necessary. But there is a remake (loosely based on the 1981 book by the late Warren Adler).
The current movie stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman, who portray the happy suburban couple Theo and Ivy Rose, whose marriage morphs into mutual vengeance. The movie is billed as a dark comedy. And if you have a sadistic sense of humor, you’ll think “The Roses” is funny.
