NEW YORK – There’s one thing I am certain of: The culture in the Detroit Tigers clubhouse is absolutely fantastic. It is an inviting, welcoming environment, not just to the media but to new teammates.

I’ve been around these guys, off and on, for about seven months and I’ve never heard a player say a disparaging remark about a woman. Or a teammate. Or a reporter. Or anybody, really.

I’ve never heard an inappropriate comment. I’ve never seen them make anyone feel uncomfortable. I’ve been in a lot of locker rooms, in a lot of sports, and that’s not always the case. At times in my career, I’ve seen players make faces or raise their eyes after a female reporter walked away.
