CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Chesapeake police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead early Wednesday morning.

Officers responded shortly after 2 a.m. to reports of gunfire in the 2900 block of S. Military Highway. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers provided first aid until medics arrived, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

So far, investigators have not released any information about the suspect.
