NEW YORK (WABC) -- New Yorkers and people across the country are marking 24 years since the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks.
Solemn ceremonies and other tributes honoring the victims are being held Thursday in New York, at the Pentagon and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
At ground zero in Lower Manhattan, the names of the attack victims were being read aloud by family and loved ones in a ceremony attended by Vice President JD Vance and his wife, second lady Usha Vance.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, and a host of current and former city officials were in attendance as well.
