GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - The Florida Board of Governors will cast a final vote on University of Florida interim president Donald Landry on Thursday.

Landry’s been in office since September 1 and within the past three years, we’ve already seen four people fill the role.

Landry comes in after Dr. Santa Ono was rejected by the Florida Board of Governors in June. This is the first time the board of governors has rejected a presidential pick.

Dr. Ono was offered a 5-year employment contract with an annual base salary of $1.5 million plus $500,000 to run UF Health.

Landry, however, will be paid more than anyone who’s ever held the role.
