Closing the Railroad facility for the unhoused in Loveland will prove to be a stupid and expensive decision made by this city. Those who have been living in the tents will have no place to go. They will soon be camping where camping isn’t allowed. Public parks? King’s Crossing?
A legitimate vote by council to close the facility was never held. A push by the minority of councilors Olson, Foley and McFall and endorsed by the city manager and city attorney made the decision to close the facility.
City Council directs the actions of manager and attorney as stated in the city charter. City Council should never have allowed this decision to take place.
Solution:
1. Rescind city manager’s decision and keep tent facility open.
