CINCINNATI, Ohio — Sunday’s season opener in Cleveland was a tale of two halves for the Bengals offense. After scoring 14 points and looking more like its usual self, Cincinnati’s offense didn’t do much of anything in the second half, gaining just seven yards in a 17-16 win.
During his Wednesday press conference, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow gave his perspective on what went wrong against Cleveland.
“In the second half we just didn’t make enough plays,” Burrow explained with trademark directness when talking to reporters. “We had good stuff called and against those guys you’re going to get one-on-one opportunities both up front and on the perimeter. And we didn’t take advantage of any of those opportunities in the second half.”
