CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – As we reflect on the 24 years since the September 11, 2001, terror attacks, we remember the loss of former South Carolina Stingrays player Mark Bavis.
Bavis, who played for the hockey team from 1994 to 1996, was working as an Amateur Scout for the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings and was on United Airlines Flight 175 from Boston to Los Angeles that day. The plane, hijacked by terrorists, struck the south tower of the World Trade Center, killing all who were on board.
