The National Book Foundation has announced the longlist for the 2025 National Book Award for Nonfiction

This year’s contenders include When It All Burns by Jordan Thomas, Run the Song by Ben Ratliff, and For the Sun After Long Nights by Fatemeh Jamalpour and Nilo Tabrizy

The five finalists will be revealed on Oct. 7, and the winners will be revealed on Nov. 19
