The City of Wanneroo has been urged to introduce new restrictions at Mindarie Marina after residents raised concerns about safety and antisocial behaviour.

Three petitions, each with around 30 signatures, had been lodged with the city, calling for bans on recreational fishing and swimming in the marina, as well as the night-time closure of the public boardwalk and jetty at its southwest corner.

They have now been reviewed and the council is set to consider recommendations from city staff.

Supporters of the petition want recreational fishing to be banned entirely in the marina, including along all boardwalks, jetties, and pontoons managed by the City of Wanneroo.
