Following reports that a notorious accused child rapist requested transfer to a women’s detention centre, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre renewed his call to “ban biological men from women’s prisons.”

“This vile male monster charged with violently sexually assaulting a 3 year old girl wants to be transferred to a women’s prison. Lock him up,” Poilievre wrote in a Tuesday social media post.

On Aug. 31, Welland, Ont., man Daniel Senecal was arrested and charged for allegedly breaking into a home and sexually assaulting a toddler to the point of hospitalization.

According to a statement by the Niagara Regional Police Service, the victim’s sleeping parents were unaware of the attack until they found their seriously injured child the next morning.
