While most of the U.S. housing market experienced a drastic slowdown this summer—with properties taking longer to sell, if they sold at all, than at any point in the past decade—a few cities remained extremely competitive.

In those markets—half of which are in the Midwest—homes sold in about half the time reported at the national level, or just a little more, according to a new Realtor.com report.
