A horse drawn procession will lead the funeral of well-known Manchester figure Jimmy "The Weed" Donnelly through the streets of the city to his final resting place next month.

Hundreds of mourners are expected to attend to pay their respects to Jimmy, who died peacefully aged 84 in August after living with cancer for several years.

His death came just weeks after the passing of his much-loved businessman brother Arthur Donnelly , aged 83.

Announcing Jimmy's death in August, his family said: "It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the death of our beloved father, grandad, brother, uncle and friend to so many, Jimmy 'The Weed' Donnelly."
