PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. did not practice with a hamstring injury on Wednesday. Head coach Mike Tomlin did seem optimistic that Porter would end up playing, but starting the week off on the wrong foot is not the start to the week they wanted.

If Porter could not play, it would be cornerback Brandin Echols who will suit up instead. Echols had to play for Porter during the rest of the game after the team held Porter out as a precaution. During those snaps, Echols played outside cornerback.

In addition to Porter, outside linebacker Nick Herbig is battling a hamstring injury, but was limited for the fourth straight practice. He seems on track to play this week.
