After playing one season with the Dallas Mavericks, where Derrick Jones Jr. helped the team reach the NBA Finals, he joined the Los Angeles Clippers on July 10, 2024. Even though more than a year had passed since he signed the contract, he continued to have a dispute with his former agent. Fortunately, this matter has recently been resolved.

The dispute between Jones and NBA agent Aaron Turner started in July 2024 after Jones signed a contract with the Clippers. Jones changed agents while negotiating with multiple teams before signing a contract with the Clippers. Marc Stein recently reported that the dispute has finally ended.
