FORT WORTH, Texas — No. 2 Texas snapped No. 4 Louisville's four-match season-opening win streak Wednesday night, defeating the Cardinals 3-2 (25-23, 25-16, 25-21, 25-22, 16-14).

The Cardinals are now 4-1 on the season. Louisville hit .144 as a team, with sophomore outside hitter Payton Petersen and junior outside hitter Chloe Chicoine tallying 18 and 13 kills, respectively.

Defensively, UofL tallied 20 blocks. Redshirt senior middle blocker Cara Cresse tied her school record with 14.

Sophomore setter Nayelis Cabello had 38 assists, three kills and seven blocks. Junior libero Kamden Schrand and freshman setter/libero Hannah Kenny both finished with 12 digs and two aces.
