FORT WORTH, Texas — No. 3 Kentucky Volleyball finished its season-opening road trip Wednesday night, falling 3-0 to No. 7 Pittsburgh (25-19, 25-22, 25-23).
Despite the loss, it was a milestone evening for junior outside hitter Brooklyn DeLeye. The Kansas native notched her 1,000th career kill, becoming the 19th player in program history to reach the mark. DeLeye clobbered a set from freshman Kassie O'Brien for the Wildcats' 15th point of the third set.
DeLeye ended the match with 14 kills on 37 swings for a .297 hitting percentage, three assists and five digs. She was one of two players to record double-digit kills for Kentucky, along with senior outside hitter Eva Hudson, who led the team with 15.
