PHOENIX - Following several above-average days of high temperatures, the numbers start to fall this afternoon thanks to a shifting weather pattern.

An area of low pressure and associated trough will run over the west coast and lift northeast of Arizona into the weekend. As this happens, winds continue to pick up over the state and temperatures begin to cool.

What To Expect:

The forecast high on Thursday is 102 degrees, following a high of 108 on Wednesday. By Friday, the high drops to 100 degrees and 99 by Saturday. Morning temperatures will also turn notably more pleasant with temperatures bottoming out in the middle 70s in Phoenix by the weekend. Parts of the Valley will fall into the low 70s over the weekend.
