Scoreless at halftime, Cold Spring Harbor’s field hockey team came alive in the second half, netting two goals for a 2-0 win Tuesday over Locust Valley in Conference I.
It was sophomore Serafina Belcastro who was able to get the Seahawks on the board in the third quarter, during their fourth corner attempt of the game.
“After three other corner attempts, our goal we made during halftime was finally to finish on one of them,” assistant coach Carolena Purpura said. “Serafina had a direct shot to the right corner, and it was just a great feeling to see what we had discussed during halftime come to life on the field.”
Senior Keira Chan scored with 20 seconds left for Cold Spring Harbor, assisted by Finley Woodworth.
