CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WV News) — West Virginia public schools are showing widespread improvements in attendance and graduation rates, according to the 2024-2025 West Virginia Balanced Scorecard results.

The West Virginia Department of Education, or WVDE, released the data Thursday, which provides an annual snapshot of accountability ratings for public schools and districts across the state.

The Balanced Scorecard measures progress across several key indicators, including academic achievement, academic progress, and student success metrics such as chronic absenteeism and post-secondary outcomes. The latest data reveals a positive trend across the state’s 611 schools and 55 school districts.
