A 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the death of James Chesnutt in March 2024, Greensboro Police said in a release.

On Saturday, March 2, 2024, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Greensboro Police responded to an apartment in the 300 block of O’Connor Street in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located Chestnutt, 67, dead from injuries he had sustained, according to the release.

On Sept. 9, police located and charged Larry Armond Crippen, of Ocean County, New Jersey, with one count of first-degree murder, one count of possession of a firearm by a felon, and one count of possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

Police say Chesnutt’s next-of-kin have been notified of the arrest in this case.
