GRANT COUNTY, Wash. -- An Ephrata man was killed in a crash east of Soap Lake Wednesday night.

Washington State Patrol says 36-year-old Jesse Perez was riding a motorcycle along Highway 28 about nine miles east of Soap Lake around 8"30 p.m.

Initial reports from WSP said Perez crashed into an animal but an official release said Perez lost control of his motorcycle for unknown reasons.

Perez was ejected and landed in eastbound lanes. WSP says after some time, a vehicle heading east hit Perez. He died at the scene.

WSP says the crash is under investigation and it's unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.
