Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff following the fatal shooting of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk .
"Following the direction of [President Donald Trump], all flags in Missouri are now flown at half-staff through September 14, in honor of Charlie Kirk," Gov. Kehoe said in an X post Wednesday evening.
Kirk, 31, was shot during a question-and-answer session with students. President Donald Trump confirmed Kirk's death in a post on Truth Social calling the right-wing personality and close ally "Great, and even Legendary."
Police detained two people in the wake of the shooting but both have been released and are not believed to be the shooter, authorities said. A manhunt is underway for the shooter who still remains at large.
