Winning a life changing amount of money on a new scratch ticket game has given a Pittsfield woman the chance to buy a house and help her loved ones.

Sarah Newton, of Pittsfield, won the $10 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$200X” instant ticket game. She paid $20 for the winning ticket at Convenience Plus, which is located at 480 West Housatonic St. in Pittsfield.

Newton chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $6.5 million before taxes. She told the lottery she plans to buy a house and help her family with the winnings.

The store receives a $50,000 bonus for its sale of the ticket.
