How can one “buy back” what one never owned in the first place? (“ Gun buybacks: One step toward peace in Baltimore ,” Sept. 9)

What a ridiculous name for the process of buying broken, unwanted, inoperable, worthless guns, and to honestly think this reduces violence even one whit is pure folly.

Yes, all the gang bangers in town will suddenly turn into Wally Cleavers and turn in their guns.

Good grief.
