Flags are flying at half-staff in Mississippi and across the country to honor the life and death of Charlie Kirk .

The conservative activist was shot and killed while speaking at an outdoor event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, about 12:20 p.m. local time Wednesday, Sept. 10. He received medical care and died at a hospital hours later.

A single shot rang out over the crowd, hitting Kirk in the neck. Graphic videos of the shooting was posted on live on social media accounts. (The shooter has not been arrested as of the time the article was published.)
