GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - First responders around North Central Florida are climbing steps in honor of the people who lost their lives during the attack on the Twin Towers 24 years ago.
Bradford County Fire Rescue was one of the agencies that participated in a memorial stair climb to honor first responders who climbed the 110 stories at the World Trade Center.
“I think it was such a big event in our history, and such a turning point for our country, and I think that for a lot of our employees, some of them weren’t even born when these events happened, so for them to come out and just get a sample of what that means, and what that tradition to honor those folks means, and to pay our respects,” said Ben Carter, the chief of Bradford County Fire Rescue.
