An Iowa school district is investigating an educator accused of making a controversial social media post about conservative activist Charlie Kirk after he was fatally shot during a Utah event.

Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of the conservative group Turning Point USA, was speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, when he was shot in the neck Sept. 10 during a question-and-answer session with students. The Oskaloosa Community School District posted on Facebook late Wednesday, Sept. 10, a statement that district officials were notified around 5:15 p.m. of a social media post involving an Oskaloosa High School teacher.
