BATON ROUGE, La. — Students and staff at Southern University and A&M College were on lockdown in Baton Rouge Thursday morning, due to a "potential threat", school officials said.

The lockdown was lifted shortly after noon today, and all classes and campus activities have been cancelled through this weekend.

At least five other historically black colleges and universities received similar threats today.
